Strathclyde Police, Scotland’s largest police force and one of the biggest in the UK has recently entered into an agreement with Guardian24

22 Nov 2011

Strathclyde Police, Scotland’s largest police force and one of the biggest in the UK has recently entered into an agreement with Guardian24 the UK’s leaders in lone worker solutions as part of their campaign to reduce domestic violence and increase domestic violence incidents being reported and managed.

Strathclyde Police ran their annual Festive campaign last year from Monday 6th December 2010 to Sunday 9th January 2011, and within this time officers arrested 1,007 offenders.

The campaign reinforced Strathclyde Police’s commitment to robustly tackle domestic abuse and saw a determined effort by Strathclyde Police officers to encourage victims - or anyone who knows a victim of domestic abuse - to come forward and report it.

During the five week campaign, officers attended 2,877 incidents of domestic abuse. This was a 27.6 per cent rise overall in the number of incidents reported to police, compared with the previous five week period. As a result of this campaign, Strathclyde Police tendered for the Supply and Delivery of Domestic Abuse Alarms and Provision of associated services.  Guardian24 bid for and won this tender.

Strathclyde Police chose Guardian24 via the BlackBerry ® smartphone. Should their safety be compromised, domestic abuse victims can discreetly summon emergency assistance.

Guardian24 has contracts with over 400 public and private organisations and looks forward to assisting Strathclyde Police with the deployment of the solution.
