Details

Employees working in the community such as district nurses can use the Guardian24 personal security service to summon help at the touch of a button should they experience difficulties or risk to their safety.
The G24 service can be used by any device which picks up a telephone signal. The most common way to use the service is on a mobile phone but it can be facilitated on any GSM or GPS devices as well as BlackBerry and PDAs.
Should lone workers experience difficulties they can raise the alarm by simply pressing a designated speed dial button which relays their details and current location.
The service records all background noise as the situation unfolds and this information is then relayed back to wither the lone worker’s employer or a third-party alarm receiver such as Securitas via Guardian24.
Bluechip also provides a discreet Identicom service- a mobile device hidden in the back of an identity card holder which can be worn on clothing or round the neck with an easily accessible panic button.
Employees now using G24 are community-based staff ranging from district nurses to occupational therapists and rehab outreach workers. There are around 30,000 lone workers throughout the UK currently using the service.
Geoff Hayter, executive director of Guardian24 said: ‘We’re hoping the deal we secured with this NHS Trust in the north of England will be seen as a precedent in the UK and other regions may follow suit as employers are all too aware that the safety of their staff is of paramount importance.’
Bluechip’s latest contract with the NHS trust is in conjunction with Orange Telecom and Securitas Alert Services.
Bluechip Technologies a UK wide company with its head quarters in the Docklands area of Belfast has won a contract to supply a personal security service to a 1,000 NHS emplyees in England.

The staff have been equipped with the personal security sevice on both mobile phones and Identicoms using Bluechips core product, the Guardian24 service.
